Nicholas b. WrighT
Coach Wright enters his 7th year with LQCR. Coach Wright is a graduate and former varsity member of rowing powerhouses New Canaan High School (CT) and Trinity College (CT). Coach Wright was a medalist at CPSRA, Northeast Regionals, USRowing Youth Nationals, New England Fours, New England's and ECAC NIRC Championships. Coach Wright is also a current masters sculler with several medals and top 6's. Coach Wright is a USRowing Level 2 coach who is a yearly coaching conference attendee including CRI's What Works and The Joy of Sculling. Coach Wright has coached for BU Community Rowing, A-B Crew, Medford High School & Mystic Valley RCS.
Coach Wright also coaches LQCR's Adult Learn To Row and Masters Programs
Dan Mahoney is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he studied political science and public policy. Dan was also a member of the Men’s rowing team on campus where he rowed in the second varsity eight.
Rowing is an integral part of Dan’s life, and he has a combined 8 years of rowing and coaching experience to show for it. Dan served as a men’s high-performance coach as well as a middle school learn to row instructor at Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club and will be spending the 2018-19 school year as an assistant coach for the Holy Cross Men's program.
When not rowing or coaching, Dan is often working on or riding his bicycle, a favorite cross training tool or working on his own advertising business.
Richard W. Stavros
Coach Stavros has been involved with rowing in Worcester since the 1970's. LQCR is his latest project to expand high school rowing. A long time Worcester Public HS coach, Coach Stavros also created the Worcester State College program, Arlington-Belmont Crew, the Massachusetts Public School Rowing Association, and the New England Junior & High School Regional Championship Regatta.
In his spare time, Coach Stavros is co-owner of the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA.
Coach Mott is an alumnus of Worcester Technical High School and the Worcester Public Schools rowing team. Coach Mott as swam for all four years of High School. He graduated top of his class with a concentration in healthcare and gained his CNA and EMT licenses. Currently Coach Mott is a varsity rower for Ithaca College (NY) where his is pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Coach Mott is a certified personal trainer with specialty certifications in corrective exercise and sports nutrition.
